About Me
Karina Lechner, BSc,RMT (r) DO (MTP), M OMSc, MRO/MICOKarina graduated from the University of Guelph in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science (honours) degree in Natural Resources Management and Environmental Studies.
Thereafter she studied at Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic in Toronto, from which she graduated as a Registered Massage Therapist in 1991.
Karina has been a practitioner for 20 plus years - first as a massage therapist, and, after many advanced level / post graduate courses with the Upledger Institute (CranioSacral Therapy) and the Barral Institute, she completed the 4 year program at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy(CAO) and is currently a practitioner of Osteopathic Manual Therapy (2009).
Her thesis, written for graduation at the CAO, focused on the conversion of environmental stressors to physical symptomatology within our bodies.
Her current area of research involves the Gut / Brain axis and the bodys micrombiome relationship to health..
Upon graduation from the CAO, Karina was awarded the Andrew Taylor Still Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
Karina is a member of The Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners and the Institute of Classical Osteopathy (England)
