Kelly Foss

CranioSacral Therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner

About Me

My Story

My first exposure to CranioSacral Therapy came years after I experienced a traumatic brain injury. It was then and is still the least invasive and most impactful healing modality I have experienced.

Fascinated by the interconnected nature of mind and body, I became a Certified Massage Therapist to deepen communication and restore balance between the two. Bodywork helps us move into the present, connect to our bodies, and heighten our perception of the physical experience. CranioSacral has helped so many heal on a more profound and lasting level than other forms of therapies. I am continually amazed and impressed by the intuitive nature of this work.

My Training

I specialize in massage therapy, eastern healing modalities and CranioSacral techniques. I trained at McKinnon Body Therapy Center in Oakland, California, completing the 500-hour massage therapy program and work as a Certified Massage Therapist in California and am a Licensed Massage Therapist in Hawai'i. I am currently pursuing licensure as a bodyworker in Colorado as a new resident. I have completed 4 years of training with The Upledger Institute, and continue to take classes across the country to expand my learning across a variety of topics. My 3 years of training with Somatic Experiencing International to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner complements this work, as my background in trauma healing interventions is extensive. I blend these skills with a 16 year background in creative communications with a focus in strategy, a skillset I redirect toward helping my clients explore internal conversations, visualize new possibilities and access their creativity to open doors in stuck places.

CranioSacral Therapy can be helpful for those experiencing:

  • Headaches and migraines
  • Chronic neck, shoulder, hip and lower back pain
  • Concussions and traumatic brain injury
  • Alzheimer's disease and dementia
  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Stress and anxiety-induced tension
  • Emotional imbalances
  • Learning disabilities
  • Neurovascular and immune disorders (including Multiple Sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis)
  • Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)

Frameworks that inform my practice:
I blend my knowledge of neurobiology and psychology with spiritual and holistic models of understanding, drawing on attachment theory, Internal Family Systems, interpersonal neurobiology, polyvagal theory and Five Element Theory to create expansive space for my clients to heal. I found this work after surviving two life-disrupting injuries and it changed the course of my life, personally and professionally, allowing for greater self-growth possibilities than I could have ever imagined at the outset. I invite you to discover the ways in which CranioSacral Therapy might lead you into new, unexpected and beautiful territory.

My Personal Life
Outside of this work, I love yoga, live music, hiking and soaking up nature, reading actual books, road trips and travel, navigating the complexities of these modern times, and being present for the people in my life.

Thank you for considering working with me to heal and restore deep connection to your body. It would be an honor to work with you to facilitate the growth you're capable of.
