Lauren Collins MPT, CLT-LANA

About Me

Lauren is a board certified physical therapist and Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) certified lymphedema therapist. She is the owner of Vital Self Physical Therapy, LLC; located in the MD/DC/VA metro area. Lauren graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC with her Master's in Physical Therapy in 1998. She has practiced physical therapy for 17 years with an emphasis in women's health for the past 13 years, inclusive of pelvic floor dysfunction for the past 8 years, where she treats both women and men. Lauren has had a life long passion for women's health.

Lauren has specialized training in CranioSacral Therapy, Visceral manipulation and Myofascial Release. She incorporates these and various other treatment techniques and modalities into her treatment regimens.

Lauren believes in multilayer healing and incorporates a philosophy of whole self healing in her treatments. She is a trained sexual assault survivor advocate and has special interest areas in working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence and cultural compentency. She provides educational workshops to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence to assist them in healing chronic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction issues. She has presented on sexual trauma and pelvic pain at several conferences supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.

Lauren is a mother of 2 children, ages 17 and 13 and has a passion for dance. She loves languages and has limited oral and written communication in french, spanish and sign language.
