About Me
I am a licensed acupuncturist who uses Manual therapy, Acupuncture, and Chinese herbs as the modalities to help my patients. I had worked as a full-time faculty member at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, Oregon for 10 years before relocating to Hawaii in 2021.
While in NUNM, I specialized in teaching Chinese herbs and Classical texts of the East Asian Medicine which were written a long long time ago. When I first came across "listening" and "manual thermal evaluation" technique and visceral osteopathic approach, developed by Jean-Pierre Barral, I thought they were excellent objective assessment methods and great ways to understanding the intricacies of the body. And I thought that enhanced palpatory senses and precise knowledge of living anatomy developed over time through dedicated practice of these methods would help substantiate and illuminate what was written in the ancient medical texts that I had been trying to decipher and apply in clinic.
I have since studied comprehensive curriculum of the Barral Institute and completed the Institute's visceral, neural, vascular, and articular curriculum and became certified for both visceral and neural technique. I continue studying and practicing these modalities and frequently participate in Barral institute's courses as a student or a Teaching Assistant.
