I am a holistic Physical Therapist who has provided PT Services in various settings (sports and geriatric outpatient, home health, acute, intensive, and critical care, inpatient rehab, skilled nursing and some hospice settings).  I have a strong background in both medically complex conditions and neurology and worked with the UNM PT program’s Neurology and Gerontology curriculums as a Teacher’s Assistant in 2022-2023.

I am excited to expand my Bilingual (Spanish fluent) Physical Therapy practice to private service to Santa Fe and Albuquerque New Mexico!

Therapy should be functionally integrative and practical.  It can be embedded within everyday activities individuals need and want to do. I enjoy problem solving a simplified unique therapy program tailored to a person's specific needs within nature, the community or a home environment.

Humans enjoy fun, effective, and low impact therapeutic exercise and activities that are meaningful to their individual lives.  I find this paradigm helps influence adopting new positive habits for optimal outcomes long term.  I safely challenge flexibility, strength, and activity tolerance while minimizing discomfort with skilled and patient interventions. I employ a friendly and warm persona with skilled patient education which helps my clients truly understand how these positive changes impact their longevity and quality of life. I create safe, practical, and comprehensive plans of care for a variety of conditions and medical diagnoses for many populations.  I am a generalist with many specialized interests and skills.  You do not need to be in pain or have aggressive physical therapy maneuvers to significantly benefit from treatment; the philosophy of treatment is in agreement with the tissues and body.

I have enthusiastically been expanding my manual therapy skills combining powerful modalities (Neural, Visceral, Vascular, Articular Mobilization and recently, Manual Approach the Brain (1&2 with JP Barral).  I work manually (hands-on) with the body (passively and actively) to address restrictions interfering with physiologic function of all systems of the body to promote balance of tissue fluids, pressures, and the brain’s communication between structures of the various regions of the body and holistic being. This is in concert with skilled exercise and activity instruction to promote learning new movement strategies and integration with the highly complex nervous system.  I facilitate learning pain-free movement strategies that are more efficient and promote meaningful longevity with quality of life.  I utilize the surrounding environment (community/ in-home) as a “functional playground” for exercise and activity to facilitate wholesome health. Treatment is tailored to each person based on their own unique situation, daily demands, and history that have shaped their individual current presentation. My philosophy is multi-dimensional and multifaceted, rooted in doctoral level anatomic and physiologic concepts of the body’s systems, biomechanical principles and application to functional movement & mobility.   My approach is alternative, culturally diverse, with an emphasis on physical as well as holistic aspects of health.

These intervention combinations are effective because they are guided by palpation, “feeling” tissue tensions from within the body…each body’s tensions are like no other.  Just like a painting is like no other painting. This is why treatment can be deeply helpful and unique.  This specialized palpation encourages the body to express itself, turn to its own cellular intelligence and realize it can release a protective guarding pattern, the obstacle getting in the way of optimal movement.  This helps optimize function and promote a cycle of self-healing.  It taps into a person’s own inner potential to learn different movement options and find a better way for itself. My approach is an ongoing collaboration between my clients and I.  I am a servant of the body’s voice, I let it speak and humbly follow it’s messages and guidance to achieve optimal healing.

I have experience working with mobility impaired, medically complex, fragile and frail clients who have mobility difficulties.  For these cases I promote independence with walking (in and outside of one’s home), standing up (from chairs or the floor), bed mobility, steps/stairs, inclined/declined terrain to help one keep up with responsibilities, hobbies, and recreational/ community activities. Working in the hospital settings has helped me gain skills needed to be comfortable safely working with individuals who have complicated medical histories and co-morbidities.

Research has shown function and pain can improve in even the most fragile populations. I can safely and appropriately challenge and progress strength and activity while minimizing discomfort with skilled and incremental intervention progressions.

Express and discover your inner potential!
