Jennifer's passion for understanding relationships throughout the body and problem solving the multiple "whys" a patient struggles with pain or illness began in 2003. Frustrated with her results with patients utilizing traditional physical therapy skills, she began coursework in Functional Manual Therapy through The Institute of Physical Art. This work taught her how identify areas of restriction, precision in treating them quickly and effectively, and how to problem solve both simple and complex conditions outside of the the box of conventional therapy and medicine. This newly stoked curiosity for supporting the healing of the human body evolved into Visceral, Vascular and Neural Manipulation study through the Barral Institute.
As a licensed Physical Therapist for over 20 years, Jen continues to study and learn what happens to the physical body when it experiences a trauma, physical, mental, and emotional, how it adapts and accommodates to a trauma, and how this lifetime of trauma and adaptation contribute to many of our health care concerns today.
She has advanced studies as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, Certified Functional Manual Therapist, Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner, and Advanced Clinician of Visceral, Vascular and Neural Manipulation.
She focuses on identifying and restoring the "whys" that are contributing to the "whats" that are the current symptoms of a patient. Her Whole Person, Integrative Manual Physical Therapy assessment and treatment approach honors each patient as a unique individual with unique needs for health and healing.
A highly trained hand can identify tissues, organs, and the systems in which they belong that are involved in one's current concerns, restore efficient structure and function, and reintegrate them back into the whole system. By additionally incorporating concepts of Functional Medicine, PolyVagal Theory and Trauma Compensation Theory, Jennifer is able to help her patients overcome old injuries and traumas, restore their bodies to optimal health, and build resilience.
Not only does Jen help patients restore their health and overcome health concerns, but she also collaborates with other medical professionals to provide information not obtainable by labs or imaging that can further guide them in treating their patients.
Jennifer loves the ocean, skiing in the Rockies, and living Lake Erie life while raising her two boys.
