About

Ivy is a registered physiotherapist in Hong Kong (Hong kong Physiotherapy Board) and the United Kingdom (Health & Care Professions Council) who mainly practises Visceral Manipulation (VM). In 2023, She has become a certified Visceral Manipulation Manual Practitioner (CVMP) (certified from VM1-6), probably the first one in Hong Kong, China. Her clientele ranges from babies to elderly, from musculoskeletal pain (eg.arthritis, joint sprain, tendon strain) to neurogenic problems (eg.sciatica, epilepsy, migraine, PID); from digestive issues (eg.gastric reflux, Crohn's disease, SIBO) to endocrine issues (eg. fatty liver, hyperthyroidism), from hormonal imbalance (eg.menstrual issues, infertility) to vascular problems (eg.congested venous system).

Ivy has been practising VM from Barral Institute since 2012. VM is an Osteopathic Technique developed by a French Osteopath Jean-Pierre Barral in 1970s, who found out that all internal organs have their specific mobility & motility, which was later confirmed by ultrasound scan. When a structure cannot move in its optimal way, disease occurs. In VM, therapists are trained to use their hands to locate the root cause of the symptoms, to treat the root cause by assisting the organ to restore its normal mobility, motility & tone, to support patient's self-healing process. Apart from internal organs, Jean-Pierre invented techniques on treating nerves, arteries, veins, joints and its related tissues eg joint capsule, ligaments. He also invented Manual Thermal Evaluation & viscero-emotional approach to address client’s emotional issues.

Through the clinical experience using VM, Ivy realised VM is very effective with very long lasting effect. Ivy commits her life to continue her life-long study on human body through dissection courses, and on VM to better serve patients of any kind. Since 2016, she has been taking courses with Jean Pierre Barral, founder of VM, to learn directly from him. She has studied nearly all the courses and she is a certified teaching assistant (VM level 1 to 5, Listening Technique 1) for Barral Institute.

Alongside VM, Ivy is also certified by Upledger Institute as a CranioSacral Therapist on Technique level. She integrates other techniques like Heart-Centered Therapy as well to serve patients with emotional issues.

Ivy is also a devoted yoga practitioner who has taught yoga since 2009. She has learnt from Sri Dharma Mittra in New York City and is a registered Dharma Yoga teacher (Level 1-3, to be certified on Level 4). She also learnt non-duality and meditation from Rupert Spira. Instead of receiving treatment passively, Ivy’s clients are guided to thrive on health by engaging proper exercise, breath work, positive thinking and dietary modification. She has come up with a diversified approach in serving her clients’ needs from a holistic view, to assist them to regain vitality for good.
