CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams - about the weight of a nickel - practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. By normalizing the environment around the brain and spinal cord and enhancing the body’s ability to self-correct, CranioSacral Therapy can alleviate a wide variety of dysfunctions, from chronic pain and sports injuries to stroke and neurological impairment.
Some of the conditions that CranioSacral Therapy addresses:
- Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injury
- Migraines and Headaches
- Chronic Neck and Back Pain
- Autism
- Stress and Tension-Related Disorders
- Motor-Coordination Impairments
- Infant and Childhood Disorders
- Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
- Chronic Fatigue
- Fibromyalgia
- TMJ Syndrome
- Scoliosis
- Central Nervous System Disorders
- Learning Disabilities
- ADD/ADHD
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Orthopedic Problems
A properly functioning lymphatic system is critical to our body’s ability to drain stagnant fluids, filter out toxins, regenerate tissues, and maintain a healthy immune system. Lymph vessels rely on hundreds of tiny muscles (lymphangion) contracting within them to propel lymph flow. These contractions enable the lymph vessels to transport substances such as proteins, toxins, hormones, fatty acids, and immune cells to our lymph nodes, which then process them.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (LDT) is a hands-on technique designed to enable and sustain proper functioning of the human fluid system.
Lymph flow can be hindered or blocked due to surgery, trauma, burns, infections, medications, substantial swelling, fatigue, stress, or age.
LTD enables practitioners to detect the specific rhythm, direction, depth, and quality of the lymphatic flow to provide more precise outcomes.
Some of the benefits of LDT are:
- Reduction in edemas (swelling), and lymphedemas
- Relief of chronic and subacute inflammation, including sinusitis
- Immune system stimulation for preventative and therapeutic effects
- Pre- and post-surgical therapy
- Detoxification of the body
- Deep relaxation to aid insomnia, stress, etc.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, and joints. Massage therapy is a clinically oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with every day occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions. It can be an important part of your health maintenance plan by reducing or eliminating pain, improving joint mobility, improving lymphatic drainage, and reducing muscular tension.
Massage therapy can treat both acute and chronic conditions. RMTs work with a wide variety of patients in the treatment of illness, injury, rehabilitation, and disability.
