Licensed PT since 1982, Kim received a B.S. in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University in 1981 and has earned Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy. Since 1986, Kim has studied directly under John Upledger. She has been a Teaching Assistant for many courses with the Upledger Institute. Since 1989, Kim has studied directly under Jean Pierre Barral, D.O., P.T., the developer of Visceral Manipulation. In the '80s, Kim studied with Janet Travell, M.D. one of the most important professionals responsible for two book volumes used today on "Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction". Kim has been an instructor and faculty member for USC Dental School, TMJ Department, under the direction of Terry Tanaka, DDS. Kim has also been an instructor of Soft Tissue Techniques and TMJ courses to Loma Linda University's Master of Physical Therapy Program. Kim continues on her educational journey each year and has taken 100's of courses post-PT graduation. No matter how much you learn in your PT education, a PT professional still needs to be applying that knowledge daily in a clinical setting to be extremely effective for the benefit of the patient. Kim has well over 67,000 application hours in Advanced Physical Therapy techniques and continues to work on a 5 day a week schedule so you have the opportunity to receive her services without long waitlists. Kim is also a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner and a Certified Massage Therapist. Among all that she has accomplished, Kim graduated with a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy which is just another example of her dedication to the Profession of Physical Therapy and to her patients. Dr. Kim Lawler-Coyle, DPT brings with her a caring approach and genuine attention to helping patients that come to Focus On Health A Physical Therapy Corporation to succeed in feeling well again.
